Anything that can accept a digital signal and output sound must include a DAC. This includes your phone, MP3 player, receiver, AV processor, computer, laptop, CD/DVD/Blu-ray player with analog outputs, wireless speakers, clock radios, and more.
Many people ask therefore why it is necessary to buy an external DAC. Perhaps the easiest to understand is that an external DAC can eliminate unwanted noise from your source product.
The YBA Heritage asynchronous D100 has DSD. Any source material being used which has been recorded with DSD encryption will be recognised by the D100 and will be reflected in the front panel display. This applies to all inputs. It also has Bluetooth. The USB input allows a direct connection to a PC/MAC. The D100 operation is fully independent of your computer built-in soundcard and will operate whether your computer has a soundcard or not. Windows users require a download – the download appears in the documentation area MAC users do not require any download.
The D100 is available in black or silver finish. The D100 works seamlessly with Apple’s Airport Express base station as well as Apple TV. It is also compatible with several streaming devices which offer a digital or coaxial output. The only thing you need to do is to connect the digital output of the device you are using (i.e. Airport Express, Apple TV, a streamer etc.) to the optical input of your D100 and you’re done!
